CENTURY

Privacy Policy

Effective 26 June 2026

Century is a single-device challenge timer. We built it to keep your data on your phone. This policy explains exactly what stays on your device, the small amount that is processed elsewhere to deliver lock-screen updates, and the choices you have.

What stays on your device

Everything you create in Century is stored locally on your iPhone and is not uploaded to us: your saved challenges, champion team and player names, venues, notes, photos, achievements, statistics and settings.

We have no accounts and no Century database — we cannot see this information.

What leaves your device, and why

The only time data leaves your phone is to drive the Lock Screen / Live Activity and round notifications while your phone is locked during an active challenge. iOS does not allow an app to update a Live Activity in the background on its own, so a small server (Cloudflare Workers) sends the update via Apple Push Notification service (APNs).

For that, and only during an active online challenge, we send: a random per-challenge ID, the Live Activity push token and your device’s notification token, the challenge timing (start time, round length, number of rounds), the selected theme, and flags describing which round notifications your phone has scheduled.

This is used solely to push the correct round to your lock screen at the right moment. It is never used for advertising, profiling or tracking.

What we never collect

We never send your champion or player names, venues, notes, photos, saved history or statistics off your device.

There are no third-party advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs in Century. We do not sell or share your information.

Permissions

Notifications — to alert you to each new round, including when the phone is locked. You can turn round notifications off in Settings or in iOS Settings.

Photos — only when you choose to add a photo to a saved challenge; the photo is selected by you and stored on your device.

Location — only when you tap the locate button on the results screen, to auto-fill the venue once. We do not track your location in the background.

Data retention

The challenge data sent for lock-screen updates is transient. Each challenge’s server record is automatically deleted when the challenge finishes or expires (and shortly after if you abandon or pause it).

Push delivery is handled by Apple (APNs) under Apple’s own privacy terms. Cloudflare processes the request to send the push on our behalf.

Your choices

You can delete all locally stored data at any time using “Reset all data” in Settings.

Turning off round notifications, or running a challenge offline, limits or stops the data described above from being sent.

Children

Century is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and the version shown in the app.
